How ZCAS GPA Works
A comprehensive guide to ZCAS University's grading system, GPA calculations, and academic regulations.
Overview
At ZCAS University (ZCASU), the GPA is calculated by assigning specific numerical points to your letter grades and weighting them against the credit value of each course.
Grading Points and Classification
ZCASU uses a specific point system for calculating your semester GPA and final degree classification. The following points are applied to your grades:
| Percentage | Grade | Points | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| 86% and above | A+ | 2.5 | Distinction |
| 76% – 85% | A | 2.0 | Distinction |
| 66% – 75% | B+ | 1.5 | Meritorious |
| 56% – 65% | B | 1.0 | Very Satisfactory |
| 46% – 55% | C+ | 0.5 | Definite Pass |
| 40% – 45% | C | 0.0 | Bare Pass |

Calculation Formula
Your GPA for a given study period (like an academic year or semester) is determined through these steps:
Multiply Grade-Point Value (GPV) by Course Credits (CC).
Add the results from all courses together.
Divide total by Total Course Credits (TCs) attempted.
Key Academic Rules
- Repeated Courses
If you repeat a course, the credits are earned, but the Grade Point Value is zero for the repeated attempt. It will not contribute to your final GPA or degree classification.
- Final Degree Classification
For most degree programs, your final degree class is calculated based on the results from your last two years of study.
- Scholarship Eligibility
To maintain or increase merit-based scholarship waivers (ranging from 50% to 80%), students must consistently achieve high grades, typically requiring a Merit (B+) average or better.
